501st Legion Costuming Policy

The 501st Legion consists of Imperial (Dark Side) character costumes from the Star Wars films (A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, The Clone Wars) or from the Star Wars Expanded Universe and are listed on the costumes eligible for 501st Legion membership (found here: http://www.501stlegion.org/crl/index.php). All costumes must be accurate, complete, wearable, and of professional-quality as defined in the 501st Legion canon costuming standards. Costumes eligible for membership are to be executed in a realistic style. Alternately, Clone trooper characters may be executed in the style consistent with the computer generated (3-D) 2008 Clone Wars movie.

The Costume Reference Library (CRL) is intended to serve as a guide to the standards of eligible 501st Legion costumes. Below is a listing of characters currently accepted for membership in the 501st. The 501st focuses on Star Wars villain costuming. If you are considering a Star Wars hero, Jedi, or Rebel costume, we recommend you visit our sister organization, the Rebel Legion.

PLEASE NOTE: The CRL is a fairly large undertaking involving the input of the Legion Officers, Legion Council, and all Legion Detachments. The CRL project is very much a work in progress.
